Today’s saying of the day is: “Losing a fake friend feels like grief with nowhere to put it. You can’t explain it easily, because from the outside it looks like you simply drifted apart, or had a falling out over something small. But from the inside, what you are grieving is not just the person — you are grieving the version of the friendship you believed in, the time you gave it, the things you shared, and the trust you extended that turned out not to have a worthy recipient. That grief is real, even when the friendship wasn’t. Give yourself permission to feel it, and then give yourself permission to let go of anyone who was only ever taking up space where someone real could have been.”
